Dolores Keaneの歌を聴きながら、夕方の田舎道をぼんやりと車を走らせるのが好きです。

何度も聞きながらイメージを膨らませて歌詞を翻訳してみました。
直訳だとうまく伝わらないので、いろいろ意味を考えて想像も織り交ぜてあります。

Emmylou Harris, Mary Black Dolores Keane : Sonny
3人ともそれぞれの持ち味が出ています。年齢順に並んでるのかな？奥の人（手前Emmylou Harris→真ん中Mary Black→奥Dolores Keane）に行くほど歌声の渋みは増していきます。
アイリッシュトラッドはアイルランドの荒涼とした土地や気候を背景に生まれてきたものなので、Dolores Keaneのような土の香りがする深く包み込むような歌声があっているような気がします。

小学生頃だかベストヒットUSAではじめて見て何度もビデオで見返した、とってもクセになるPVです。
この他にも“Addicted To Love”や“I didn’t mean to turn you on”など無表情な女性が登場するPVがいくつか続けて制作されていましたが、個人的には音楽、映像的にもこれがベストですね。
